Watchman On Duty-URGENT--Americans Please Pay Attention

For thus has the Lord [Adonai] said to me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees. [Is 21:6]

But if the watchman sees the sword come, and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned; if the sword comes, and takes ANY person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand. [Ezek 33:6]

[Emphasis mine]

This was not what I had planned to post, but when we ask the LORD [Adonai] to lead us, and He points to a certain matter, we do well to obey our Lord and King. He is a good, living God.

Egg Recall - Danger of Death

In July, thirty-eight MILLION [38M] eggs were shipped out from farms in Texas between June 6 and July 3 that are a Class 1 recall (probability of death). The FDA upgraded the egg recall to the highest risk level.

The eggs may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, a bacteria that causes serious illness, and in severe cases, life-threatening complications. there is a reason the FDA bumped the recall up to the highest risk level, calling for 38 million units to be pulled from shelves if they have not already been sold.

Kroger stores (especially in Texas and Louisiana) and Brookshire Grocery (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi).

You may be thinking the warning is not applicable because the eggs were collected from June to July; however, the best-by dates range from JULY 20 to AUGUST 17. Freshness, quality and flavour are generally guaranteed by that date.

Recall cartons can be identified by the codes:

P-1950 OR 0840962

The above codes are identified alongside a Julian date between 157 and 184 (those are the number of DAYS in the YEAR - from 1 - 365).

Shoppers are urged to not eat the affected eggs but to throw them away or return them to the same store where they were purchased.

Dozens of people fell ill in a salmonella outbreak that was linked to the recall. People often stay home to recover without seeking medical attention or being tested.

According to CDC, they estimate that salmonella causes over 1.35 MILLION infections a year, over 26,000 hospitalizations and 420 deaths in the US alone, each year.

The Midwest Poultry Services said its original recall was launched through "Proactive environmental monitoring practices".

The above information was published by the Sun News.

FDA Outbreak Investigation of Salmonella Eggs [July 2026]

The FDA advises consumers not to eat, sell, or serve white shell egss and brown cage-free shell eggs recalled by Midwest Poultry Services, L.P.

The above picture shows the code, alongside the Julian date and the "SELL BY" date, which is July 21, 2026. Please keep in mind that other cartons have SELL BY dates right up to and including AUGUST 17, 2026.

FDA states that the sell by or best by dates are between:
 July 20, 2026 -- August 17, 2026

The eggs were sold under: Country Morning, Cal-Maine Sunups, Brookshire's, Simple Truth, and Kroger brand names. FDA warns that eggs were also sold to smaller retail outlets that have not been named.

The stores affected are listed above, but also realize that people travel and visit. Eggs can be 'gifted' to visiting friends or relatives, or consumers can purchase eggs and travel with them to a different state. Up to 17 states have reported outbreaks at the time of this writing (August 14, 2026).

I am in Canada and only heard of the outbreak, but I have American friends that I love.

As of the time of this writing, the FDA "status" is ongoing.
Investigations were done the FDA where those who fell ill reported either purchasing or eating eggs during the timeframe of interest, and Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. was identified as a common egg source; however, this producer does NOT account for all the illnesses in this outbreak. Additional investigation is still ongoing to determine if there are OTHER sources of illness.

Symptoms

It takes between 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food (Salmonella) before illness typically occurs. They can last four to seven days. Symptoms include: diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pains. Children younger than five, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are at the greatest risk for severe and dangerous infections. It can cause death.

Recommendations

Consumers, restaurants, and retailers that purchased or received recalled eggs should throw them away or return them to their place of purchase for a refund. Any area that came in contact with the recalled eggs should be disinfected.

If the cartons that contained the eggs were thrown out, and the eggs were purchased anytime after June 6th, it is best to discard the eggs. Further instructions are at the link below.

States that Reported Cases

The following states have reported outbreaks of salmonella poisoning.

•  Arizona (AZ)

•  California (CA)

• Colorado (CO)

 Georgia (GA)

  Illinois (IL)

  Louisiana (LA)

•  Michigan (MI)

•  Missouri (MO)

•  Mississippi (MS)

•  North Carolina (NC)

•  New Mexico (NM)

• Nevada (NV)

•  New York (NY)

• Oklahoma (OK)

• South Carolina (SC)

•  Texas (TX)

•  West Virginia (WV)

Seventeen (17) states have reported outbreaks to date (AUG 14, 2026). Although the FDA site mentions it will stay updated, the last post seems to be June 30, 2026, when the last illness onset was listed. It also said that 12 states were affected, but as of now, 17 have reported outbreaks. At the time (June), 98 illnesses were reported, with 26 hospitalizations, and no deaths reported. Those numbers appear to remain the same.

Product Distribution

The following states produced the recalled eggs.

• Arkansas (AR)

• Louisiana (LA)

•  Mississippi (MS)

•  New Mexico (NM)

•  Oklahoma (OK)

•  Texas (TX)

The site (FDA) reminds readers that the product could have been distributed further, reaching additional states. That is apparent as 17 states have reported outbreaks, which includes the six (6) original distribution states.
