Wrong is Wrong
I am responsible and accountable. When enough people are reading an article it shows up at the bottom of this front page, in a list of four different titles. Obviously, the most recent article takes front page, but I speak of a short list that Blogger adds at the page bottom, as the most popular or most recently read.
It is the only way an error would have come to my attention unless someone, as an act of kindness, took time out of their schedule in order to bring the mistake to my attention. That has happened before too, and I am most appreciative. You know the saying, "The mechanic needs a mechanic", or "the editor needs an editor". No? Well, now you have.
A slice of wisdom was placed within my soul by the Holy Spirit seven or eight years ago, not sure exactly. I was still in BC because I remember sharing it at one of our Friday night dinner and worship meetings. To the King all glory due His holy name [Jesus/Yeshua].
[All] Credit [glory, honour, respect] to the LORD:
"I would rather walk in the humility of correction that in the error of pride."
Straight to the Point
Let's get straight to the point.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. [Jam 5:16]
An article that I posted twelve [12] years ago resurfaced at the bottom of this page under the four articles grouped there. Obviously, people have been reading it, so Blogger automatically places it there.
I cannot remember what I wrote where. I know my own work [we all do], but which article has what part of me in it, I could only recall every detail if I were a computer. So, with the intention of refreshing my memory, I reread the article.
Much to my chagrin, it is an unintentional article of error and seemingly endorses the prosperity gospel, female apostles, and modern-day prophets. Please do not jump on the "prophets" part. I absolutely believe people "prophesy" today.
The prophet Joel and the apostle Peter [both godly men filled with the precious and Holy Spirit] spoke about prophesying [a privilege for anyone the Holy Spirit moves upon]. Joel said the Sovereign God, in His providence, would pour out His Spirit in the last days (I believe that happened at Pentecost).
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel [2:28-29]
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and our daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [Acts 2:17]
And on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy: [Acts 2:18]
As for Peter, he echoed the prophet Joel's words, stating that Yahweh said He would pour out of His Spirit [I believe that has been happening since Pentecost and continues until it stops by God's command].
The testimony of Jesus/Yeshua is the spirit of prophecy anyway, so it has to bring the focus to Christ, and nothing can disagree with the written Word. A prophetic word today is a message, but it does not and shall never replace scripture or be added to scripture. Abba completed the scriptures He wanted the world to receive.
Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies; they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [1Cor13:9]
Do I believe in prophecies and prophesying? Absolutely!
The testimony of Jesus [Yeshua] is the Spirit of prophecy. [Rev 19:10]
 |
| ancient prophets of old |
Despise not prophesying. [1Thes 5:20]
Do I believe in modern-day prophets? No, as stated, not in the same way as the ancient or the original major and minor prophets in the Holy Scriptures. I believe in prophecies and prophesying, but we do not need prophets in the same way they were needed before - not anymore.
The ancient prophets were moved and spoke [prophesied] by the power of the Holy Spirit. Because of what Jesus Christ accomplished with His virgin birth, death (crucifixion), burial and resurrection, through grace and by faith, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Forty days after Messiah's resurrection, and witnessed by hundreds of people, Jesus/Yeshua ascended into heaven, and a cloud took Him up. He shall return the same way -- so it is written, so it shall be. [Acts 1:9-11]
I do not believe in modern-day apostles, especially "female" apostles. There were 12, and it is permanent - no more.
And the wall of the city had twelve [12] foundations, and in them the names of the twelve [12] apostles of the Lamb. [Rev 21:14]
The Bible does not even hint that there will be a list of names "to be continued" [a continuous list of more apostles' names added to the 12 carved into the foundation of the New Jerusalem].
It is not going to happen. All the names of those who call themselves "apostles" today will not be added to that foundation. If so, show me where in scripture it says that please, and I will stand corrected. Won't be the first time, and a good chance that it would not be the last.
But adding or taking away from scripture is COMMANDED against. [Deu4:2; Rev 22:18, 19] Whoever does so is in danger of plagues. Tremble at the power and the Word of God.
"Apostolos" is the Greek word for "apostles", meaning "sent ones". I am not a cessationist because I do believe Jesus still heals. I also believe miracles still happen (I have witnessed and heard of some, and been the recipient as well)
A miracle is something that is accomplished that cannot be explained according to natural or scientific laws. "Divine intervention" is the common phrase people attach to an event that defies logic.
I do not believe this is a salvation issue at all. There are some cessationists that I highly respect and know they love the Lord Jesus Christ and are faithful children of light.
Justin Peters comes to mind. Mostly because I did not know about cessationist was until I watched some of his videos. I believe Justin Peters is a true brother in Christ, even though I do not agree with him on some things.
As for prophets, some will call themselves that, but with the introduction of the internet, many will say (this is super-popular, even among car salesmen lol), nearly all of them parrot each other: => "Don't take my word for it."
That is supposed to prove they are "humbly denying" they are an apostle, but they will quickly tell you all the "prophecies fulfilled", and if you listen carefully, more often than not, the glory does not go to Jesus; it goes to them for "prophecy fulfilled" and they will point you to the video or their website to confirm.
There is much double-speak and deception if you pay close attention. The false prophets today have hundreds if not thousands of followers, yet all the original ancient prophets were killed or persecuted.
One (shall we say) prophetic voice who says it is 'not about them' has memorized prayers that are repeated consistently before they start their podcast, with some words occasionally shifted around. They will encourage you to make sure to buy their merchandise, or come to their annual 'gala' for a dinner and a tour of the property at $200 a ticket.
Or, for a 'gift' or 'donation' of $200 minimum, your name will be engraved on a piece of metal and nailed to a tree as a 'thank you' for supporting their cause. Yes, it is always a 'good thing'; otherwise who would donate? These people are very charismatic; very likable. They have a huge following. Jesus never came close to their popularity...He wasn't charismatic or likable enough, I suppose.
Then, there are the false prophets that have all kinds of courses you can take (you may find a couple under a hundred dollars) --- most 'courses' start at $200-$300, not including booklets. Do you want to "activate your spiritual ears? only $197
All kinds of "witchcraft" courses: deliverance from the spirit of Jezebel; driving out prophetic witchcraft (due to all the "false prophets arising at an alarming rate" -- each course, only $197.
If you enroll in all the courses you will spend literally thousands upon thousands of dollars, but they are the "true prophetic", eager to teach you and keep you from deception. You can check “school of the
spirit” (ask yourself, which spirit?) Please DO pray about this. Search the
scriptures.
This would be the same school that teaches about the "sneaky squid spirit", "merman spirit", "spirit of sabotage", "monitoring spirit", et al. Someone should tell the false teacher/prophet that the 'monitoring spirit' is likely AI or the government. Surveillance is their thing.
None of these are in the Bible. Some of the demons Jesus named were "deaf and dumb spirit", "unclean", "foul", "legion". Jesus/Yeshua confronted the worst demons, one of which was 'legion', but the strongest Christ came against was the devil, Satan himself.
Nowhere do you see where Jesus dealt with these new exaggerated spirits. As we are instructed, search the scriptures and you will find none of LeClaire's spirits named. Different cultures (India/Pakistan [Hindu], or West Africa [vodun - over 100 spirits/gods], and Mami Wata worship [marine spirits], a belief even found in Lebanon.
Many "prophetic" and "deliverance" voices mention the "python spirit". The combine the reality of the physical snake (python) and the reality of the spiritual realm with its demons. Act 16:16 speaks a young fortune teller who was possessed with 'pneuma Pythonos' (a spirit of divination) in Greek.
It is linked to Delphi and an oracle. The Greeks were famous for their gods and goddesses. I remember growing up hearing more about the Greek gods such as Zeus, Aphrodite (Venus - Roman goddess), and demigod, Hercules. As for the python spirit squeezing the life out of you, that describes what any demon will do spiritually. Satan came to steal, to kill and to destroy.
Sensationalism in Christianity amongst the false teachers and the wolves in sheep's clothing is not something new. We need to abide in Jesus, keep very close to Him, keep a repentant heart, and stick to the Word of God. Double agents have been around, along with false brethren, from the beginning.
Friends, the Bible informs and equips us. The devil is the devil [Satan, that old serpent/dragon] and demons are demons. The Word warns of Nephilim - we are told to get the Word of God down in our hearts. Satan and his minions deceive.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. [2Cor 11:14, 15]
It was posted July 2013 - twelve [12] long years ago. I had a friend back then that was into the "prosperity gospel", the 'name it and claim if" FALSE doctrine. I also had her on one of my radio programs back then. I had met her online, but we actually met in person too.
She was the kind woman who drove me across the border so I could return to Canada. Here is a side trail off the rabbit trail; a little trivia: I had driven into the United States, but I needed a ride to return home. Seven years passed in the USA. I had lent my vehicle to my first American landlord, who was a woman that I rented a furnished room from in January 2008.
I had a deadline to meet when doing ghostwriting at the time she asked me for a ride. Normally, I drove her to where she wanted to go. I remember hesitating (insurance did not cover another driver either), but time was too short, so I handed her my keys (she had a license). She was only going a few blocks and straight back.
Long story, short time -- the landlady wrote my van off in an accident (backed onto some meridian or cement marker. No one around; no one hurt. Vehicle destroyed. In all fairness, it was an old vehicle, but with care, it would have lasted a couple more years.
At any rate, I will always be grateful to Tish [Latshia] for driving me over the border with her young son. We lost touch years ago. That is how life goes, ebbs and flows, people come and people go. Some old saying about ships - some just pass each other in the night; some dock together for a short while; some just trade goods, and some travel together consistently, perhaps part of a fleet. Others travel alone.
I have written quite an article up on what I consider my error in "To the Weary", but it is not finished. As stated, it is not all error. There is truth in it; but...
But I had to get this notice up. It will do until the other article is up.
The prosperity gospel is a FALSE gospel, a doctrine of devils, a doctrine of error - it leads people to a false Christ and away from the true Jesus -- and modern-day prophets and apostles, especially female apostles, are not scriptural. It was the first doctrine I was introduced to at 26 years old.
It was the first church I went to after coming out of the Catholic orphanage at 9, just shy of 10 years old. I had lived in the orphanage longer than any other child because my mother paid a monthly fee to keep me there. Seven years I lived there.
Four months later, I was escorted roughly out of the church, told never to return. I had gone there after church hours for spiritual help. I had been beaten up by my then-boyfriend. One look at me and I was escorted out so quickly I was on my tippy-toes trying to keep up, as I heard that they would not allow any demons in the church. What??!! (It was 13 years before I ever tried to go to a church again.)
About the Article
I have repented with godly sorrow for posting a false doctrine - I truly hope no one was misguided, but the Lord has a way of leading those who hunger for truth to the truth. Then it is up to each individual what they want to do with the truth. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is faithful.
The grace of God is sufficient; yes, He is indeed faithful and just.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [1Jn 1:9]
