Battle above the Clouds-P 12 - Fear God Not Man

March 30, 2013 – [o3.30.2013]

Rumors of War
We have been inundated with the threat of war for some time now, as rumblings (rumors) of WWIII have been circulating throughout various groups within the news media; war being the central topic of many debates between news anchors and analysts in recent years. Witnessing the tensions globally, including the civil unrest that is vastly spreading in the majority of countries, most people in the Western Hemisphere are readying themselves mentally and physically for war.
DRONE (bug-like, robotic) - modeled after Calliphora_Vomitoria (bottlebee)

Countless are expecting another civil war, while multitudes are inclined more toward a global (world) war. Quite a few say that a civil war is redundant, as the government has advanced technology, nuclear bombs and sophisticated weaponry to quickly stop an uprising. Others do not believe the government would bomb their own country or harm their own citizens.  In general, many people seem oblivious to false flag events or PSYOP (strategic, operational, tactical, white, gray, black, covert).

PSYOP stands for ‘psychological operations’, which are planned operations.  The purpose of PSYOP is to manipulate behavior (induce, reinforce) to respond favorably to the goals (objectives) of the U.S. (to a regime - no matter what country). Oddly, there are still countless individuals that shrug the idea of war off, determining either that ‘it won’t happen; people will get over it’; or ‘it is what it is’, or ‘nothing we can do about it anyway’.

Multitudes are more focused on the ‘socialist’ or ‘communist’ executive orders that continue to escalate in volume, emergency training drills of various government agencies, the militarization of police, the increase of suicides, murders and resignations of prominent figures that oppose the government or their agenda and push for gun control.

(Note* - The Center for Domestic Preparedness government site (link under word ‘various’) is to recruit trainees, but it briefly touches upon the increase in emergency drills in an off-handed way. BP2013)

[(quote) – While the training tempo has increased dramatically, the CDP’s training programs provide the very best in advanced hands-on training for America's emergency responders.” (unquote)]  (emphasis mine – BP)

There is an overall consensus (amongst those who are awake) that the main concern is a takeover of citizens by the government and foreign troops already stationed throughout America. Martial law (State of National Emergency), the confinement of citizens in FEMA camps (known as Army Civilian Inmate Labor Program and Civilian Inmate Prison Camps) are some of today's hot subjects.

There is also the indefinite detainment of Americans, the ENDGAME plan of Homeland Security (for “potential terrorists” and “all removable aliens”), the NFC and Rex 84, Zionists propaganda, secret service and gun laws, combined with the points mentioned in the previous paragraph, are the major concerns and most talked about topics forefront in the minds of many (re: domestic and global war).

This is an entire topic in itself, but it is mentioned here to establish what many have verbalized privately amongst themselves, or on radio, TV and the internet.  We do have to be aware of what is going on, just as all of God’s people from the beginning have been aware of who their enemies were and what was happening around them.
We have to hear what the Lord is saying and follow His instructions, even though we all know that there will always be someone who opposes us. There is no getting around it. If we do as the Lord asks us, then even if another believer opposes us, we must be confident enough to trust and obey God (Yhwh).
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And you shall be hated of all men for My name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.  [Mat 10:21, 22]

In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. [Ps 56:11]

We know what’s coming.  We just do not know how soon or in what order, but prayer, fasting, reading the word and cleaving to the true, living God (Yhwh) and His Christ, our King and Lord Jesus Christ (Y’shua Ha’Mashiach) is the only way we can hold steady amidst all the chaos. We see the signs and prophecies coming to pass. Only the Lord can and will help us through it all.  Let us pray for each other that we may indeed endure to the end.  He will be our strength.

North Korea Threatens United States

On Thursday, March 28, 2013, Pyongyang threatened the United States with a preemptive nuclear strike. Pyongyang is the largest city in North Korea and the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.  Pyongyang is known simply as North Korea.
A unanimous vote by the UN Security Council, which passed tougher sanctions to punish North Korea for its recent nuclear test on February 12, 2013, triggered both anger and the threat of war to the United States.

China, which is an ally of North Korea, drafted the resolution that the UN voted on.  According to reports, the United States and China, as well as the international community, condemn North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile tests, a repeat violation of UN resolutions.

The Australian News site writes, The statement by the North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman was carried by the North's official Korean Central News Agency. It accused the US of leading efforts to slap sanctions on North Korea. The statement said the new sanctions would only advance the timing for North Korea to fulfill previous vows to take "powerful second and third countermeasures'' against its enemies. It hasn't elaborated on those measures.”
In the same report from the Australian News site, there seem to be conflicting statements. One statement declares there is no concern about North Korea’s ability to produce missiles, armed with a nuclear warhead, that is capable of reaching the U.S., and a latter statement that suggests the U.S., as well as other nations, are concerned (worry) that North Korea may attain its goal.
Although I am posting the statements back to back, they were not presented that way in the report by the Australian News site which I am quoting from.  However, the opposing statements were contained within the same report.

“Although North Korea boasts of nuclear bombs and pre-emptive strikes, it is not thought to have mastered the ability to produce a warhead small enough to put on a missile capable of reaching the US.  It is believed to have enough nuclear fuel, however, for several crude nuclear devices.”

“The United States and other nations worry that North Korea's third nuclear test pushed it closer to its goal of gaining nuclear missiles that can reach the US.”

North Korea and Ally China

It is wise to note that it is common knowledge that China is an ally of North Korea, often acting as a protective big brother.  However, we should keep aware that Russia and China continue to carry out their own military exercises; China in the South China Sea and Russia, in the Black Sea. March 28, 2013 (2 days ago) was the most recent naval drill and military exercise carried out.

It is also known that Russia is supportive of Iran’s nuclear program, even if there is some distrust between the two countries.  Indeed, these are very dark days that we are living in. Many are concerned about Russian troops on American soil, particularly after last year’s Colorado military exercise, as well as August, 2012 sighting of the Russian nuclear attack submarine that went undetected in the Gulf of Mexico (interestingly that was a short time after the LORD had given me a vision of three Russian ships and subs off the east coast of US, but it was not in Gulf of Mexico in the vision - just the east coast halfway down on the country's coast).

North Korea Angered at U.S. B-2 Stealth Bombers

This morning, March 30, 2013, Jack Kim, a reporter for Reuters who is situated in Seoul wrote:

North Korea said on Saturday it was entering a "state of war" with South Korea, its latest bout of angry rhetoric directed at Seoul and Washington, but the South brushed off the statement as little more than tough talk.

The North also threatened to shut down an industrial zone it operates jointly with the South near the heavily armed border between the two sides if Seoul continued to say the complex was being kept running for money.”

Further down, Jack Kim wrote:

"North Korea's statement today (on entering a state of war)...is not a new threat but is the continuation of provocative threats," a ministry statement said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Friday signed off on an order putting its missile units on standby to attack U.S. military bases in the South and the Pacific, after the United States flew two nuclear-capable stealth bombers over the Korean peninsula in a rare show of force.

U.S. officials said the B-2 bombers were on a diplomatic sortie aimed at reassuring allies South Korea and Japan and were also aimed at trying to nudge Pyongyang back to dialogue, although there was no guarantee Kim would get the message as intended.

South Korean President Park Geun-Hye
The South Korean government brushed off the North's latest statement on entering a state of war, saying there was nothing fresh in it to cause greater alarm. South Koreans went about with daily lives as they have done through March under the North's constant threat of attack.”

North Korea’s Threat of War Downplayed

Reuters Korea Bureau Chief David Chance states that North Korea is capable of firing on Japan and Guam, but dismisses the threat of war that N. Korea makes about successfully striking the United States.

Speaking from Seoul, he states:

“This is a continuation of the rhetoric that North Korea has been putting out over the past month or so, ever since it was threatened with sanctions for its nuclear tests.  They have missiles which have the requisite range to be able to reach Japan and some American bases in the Pacific, unlike the threat of nuclear attack on the United States, which is pure fantasy.”

“The assumption on behalf of most people who follow North Korea is that there is no way that they will risk doing anything like this.  They are talking of a response to an invasion.

I mean, North Korea has to convince its own populace that it is taking action to defend them against what it sees as attacks, or what it may well be as attacks on its sovereign rights and attacks on the Kim dynasty.

So, if in fact the United States does not carry out a strike on North Korea, as looks most likely in any case, then they will be able to say that ‘we have scared the United States away.’

Their threat of a nuclear strike and their long-range missile launches has already prompted Washington to say that they are going to install some missile defense systems in Alaska.  So, to some extent, North Korea has proved its point; they are being taken seriously by the United States.”  David Chance (Reuters Korea Bureau Chief) video (1:34)

As disciples and followers of Christ Jesus (Y’shua), we understand what the Lord warned about the last days, which we well realize that we are in.  If anything else, the constant barrage of cataclysmic events and concerns that has been the hard-to-swallow diet fed to the public steadily (especially in the past two years), has one real solution.  It is posted below, from the word of God.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows [Mat 24:6-8]

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. [Mat 10:28]
Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise up against me, in this shall I be confident. [Ps 27:3]

Indoctrination of Deceit
We begin to learn about lies when we are very young, as many of us as children, would speak forth lies to keep us from getting in trouble. Those who love the Lord put away falsehoods and deception and strive to bridle our tongue. As we grow and experience life, we begin to learn more; not only about how lying has consequences, but also about betrayal, corruption and deception on a grander scale.

Yet, we grow up being taught history that has been altered, hidden or misrepresented, science that portrays fables (evolution – The Big Bang) and other topics (such as sex education) that slowly begin to affect our ability to facilitate ‘critical thinking’ (reflective reasoning about beliefs and actions), while manipulating, blurring or obstructing how we perceive things.

Simply put, we were not taught the truth of history or science (for starters).  Most certainly, we were shielded from happenings and discoveries that would reveal decay in morals; corruption, deceit and genocide throughout history, the truth about the creation of the world, mankind and all that exists, or the different ages (truthfully) that existed before the present age, along with how and why previous ages came to an end.
For the most part, truth is often aborted or obscured, while the people are taught (programmed) to see and know only what certain people in power want mankind to see and know. A curriculum framework was developed, which would assist curriculum developers ‘in overcoming policy fragmentation’.  Teachers, as well as schools, were held accountable for student learning based on the attainment of curriculum goals.

One of the purposes of developing curriculums was supposedly to help “low-performing students from disadvantaged backgrounds”. The goals were ‘aligned to State standards’, aka (also known as) government controlled. North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) states:

“According to Curry and Temple (1992), a curriculum framework is "a document (usually developed at the state level) that suggests the best thinking about the knowledge, skills, and processes students should know and understand about a particular discipline, and that provides a structure within which to organize the other important curricular components of the instructional system"

Curriculums are constantly changing and whether educators or schools realize it or not, many textbooks that are being used throughout North America, are indoctrinating students with false or misleading information.  For example, in my last article, I introduced Jen Shroder, who writes a thought-provoking exposé about the “Islamic indoctrination in American textbooks and required prayers to Allah.”

I think the majority of us can see that all levels of society are changing, as great efforts are being put forth to indoctrinate humanity as a whole, to accept things that are not a reality, but corrupt, controlling and deceptive. There is truth, but it is becoming skewed, obsolete or squelched.  The fight for truth is as never before, as forces of darkness and evil men seek to control or obliterate truth and those who stand for truth.

Controversial Documentary - The Big Fix
In this series about deception, it seemed appropriate to mention what is considered the worst U.S. offshore oil spill, known as the Deepwater Horizon spill, which occurred 41-50 miles off the coast of Louisiana, in the Gulf of Mexico.  The oil spill transpired at a water depth of one mile below the ocean’s water surface, an occurrence unheard of before.

Reports of the disaster stunned Americans when the news media revealed the significance of the spill and its immediate impact on the Gulf coast.  When a bubble of methane gas traveled quickly up the drill column from the Macondo well, it burst through seals and barriers as it expanded, exploding suddenly.

Two separate explosions that occurred back to back claimed the lives of eleven people, nine rig crew and two engineers, as well as injuring 16 others.  None of the 11 bodies were ever found.  The explosions caused a powerful surge of oil to gush upward, spilling out 4.9 million barrels (210 million US gallons), over a period of 87 days.
As the media moved on to other pressing news, the tragedy began to fade from people’s memories. However, those who live in Louisiana, as well as other communities along the shores of the Gulf coast, have suffered serious health complications and financial ruin.

Come On Down and Visit

President Obama, who had visited Panama City in Florida, approximately three months after the oil spill, made a congratulatory speech and thanksgiving to the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other agencies who worked tirelessly to clean up the mess from the oil spill.

He states that 7,000 vessels and 47,000 people were involved in the cleanup.  Honorable mention was also given to Dr. Steven Chu (who had  advised gamma-ray imaging) and his team of scientists from NOAA for their help using complex technology to stop the leaking oil and ‘kill the well’.
Obama further stated that the ‘well is capped and no longer flowing’, closing his speech with an invitation to all Americans to ‘come on down and visit’Obama’s Speech - Come On Down and Visit

Dr. Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy, selected hydrologists and   geophysicists from the JASON independent advisory group within the U.S. Department of Defense, to assist in finding a solution to stopping the unending oil pouring into the Gulf of Mexico.  (At the time of this writing, Dr. Chu has only recently resigned his position.)
In a documentary published by the Learning Channel, President Obama opposed the outcry of the public that insisted that he and his administration were handling the oil spill poorly.

“Nobody is more upset than me because uh, like any president, when this happens on your watch (notable pause)…then, everyday you are thinking, ‘how does this get solved?’'" Obama stated.
Despite various efforts and methods to plug the well, success did not seem to be attainable at first.  During a TV interview, Obama states “Make no mistake…we will fight this spill with everything we’ve got for as long as it takes.  We will make BP pay for the damage its company has cost.”

The Learning Channel’s film called “Deepwater Disaster – BP Oil Spill” shed a more favorable light on the men involved in operations to cap the well; however, the filmmakers came to no conclusion about the matter, but instead left it open-ended by saying, “no one really knows what happened during those 87 days”.

I personally concluded that there were thousands of people and hundreds of engineers and other experts, who were sincerely doing their best to solve the environmental catastrophe.

Yet, on the other hand, it would seem that the best spokespersons were selected to speak on behalf of BP and the United States government.  There is no doubt in my mind that many in power and position were manipulated by the almighty dollar, in order to sway things in favor of the corporation responsible for the disaster.

To give each side a fair shake, I include the Learning Channel’s film (one hour duration), as well as the recent documentary (The Big Fix) made by two filmmakers (husband and wife team) that inspired this writing. Learning Channel Film

About The Big Fix Documentary

A controversial film was released in movie theatres in 2012 by filmmakers Josh Tickell and his wife Rebecca Harrell Tickell, which chronicles the 2010 BP oil spill and the aftermath that has, for the most part, been unreported by the media. It was first circulated around the Film Festivals in 2011, before its theater release in 2012; therefore, the information in the video is about two years old.

Josh Tickell, a native of Louisiana, and his wife discovered thick oil that had been covered up by sand on one of the beaches in the area of the environmental disaster. Rebecca Tickell (formerly Rebecca Harrell), who gave up acting to pursue her dream of being a film producer and environmental activist, suffers from a disease called “tar smarting”.

The skin condition is permanent and is believed to have been the result of exposure to the crude oil (petroleum) and Corexit (chemical oil dispersant) that occurred during the making of the film. Producers/Directors Josh and Rebecca Tickell were interviewed by Ken Spector of LivingEco regarding their documentary.

At the opening of the interview, Tickell is asked what motivated him to make the movie.

Josh Tickell:   “Part of the disconnect is…this story is really about an alternate narrative.  So, how far can you push people, where they actually believe a different reality than what they can see and what’s happening around them?  What we see in ‘The Big Fix’ is that you can actually make people believe in a total myth, a total fakery, which is what we’re seeing still in the Gulf of Mexico.

People are eating the fish; people are on the beach; people are in the water and the signs say, ‘It’s fine, it’s safe to swim.’  Meanwhile, tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people are suffering with acute blood disorders – bleeding coming out of the ears, the nose, uh, we’re seeing sores…we’re seeing what Rebecca had, which is this terrible blistering and photosensitivity.”

Wikipedia makes a very brief mention of the documentary stating that the “film argues that BP (British Petroleum) has utilized the oil dispersant Corexit in the Gulf to create the illusion that the Louisiana beaches are safe and the water (and seafood) uncontaminated.”  (emphasis mine – BP)

blistered arm due to Corexit exposure
rash and internal bleeding due to corexit spraying

The film was the winner for ‘Best Documentary’ in the Italian Environmental Film Festival and the International Water and Film Festival.  Ten other film festivals named ‘The Big Fix’ as their Official Selection.

Viewing Audience Votes and Reviews

In an overall survey, carried out by a site called ‘Rotten Tomatoes’, 83% of the viewing audience gave it ‘rotten tomatoes’ (did not like it), whereas 96% of the voters gave it a thumbs up (liked it).  The divide is almost half and half.  It would seem that a ‘divide’ pertains to many things these days, even amongst followers of Christ, dividing the true from the false (tares, apostate) and lukewarm.

A few reviews by others that encapsulate what the documentary is about are presented below.  The reviews are written by reporters/journalists for the news media.  It is interesting to me how the media can quickly change from one side to another in their reporting or comments.

The Guardian

In its review, the Guardian states that Josh Tickell’s greatest upset was over the use of the oil dispersant Corexit, which has had devastating effects on the health of those exposed to both the oil and the chemical spray.

“It’s not every film that sets off on a mini-road trip with Peter Fonda, only to veer off into a night-vision goggle surveillance of a BP facility.”

New York Times

As with many major news agencies, the NY Times slightly oversteps the neutrality that the media is supposed to maintain, and leans ever so slightly towards a negative review.  Initially, NY Times agrees that the film provides “ample, devastating evidence” that the water and air in Louisiana are contaminated.
However, the review ends with doublespeak, by making a closing statement that negates any positive points mentioned.

“If the film’s conspiratorial viewpoint makes sense and is probably accurate, its final judgment is so gloomy that your impulse is to throw up your hands and despair.”

The official NY Times review:

Fury, Up Close and Personal, at the Lingering Effects From the BP Oil Spill

“The Big Fix” is an enraged exposé of the crimes of Big Oil, specifically BP, which has been accused of negligence and of taking shortcuts that helped lead to the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April 2010. The film’s conspiratorial viewpoint makes sense and is probably accurate.”  LA Times

The review, although brief, gives a positive slant to the film.

“The scathing documentary “The Big Fix” investigates questions of corporate negligence and political corruption surrounding last year’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill and its lingering aftereffects on the Gulf Coast. The Big Fix” presents a compelling array of damning testimony from EPA officials, journalists, scientists and politicians as well as emotional scenes of distraught residents, a number, like Rebecca Tickell, experiencing troubling physical symptoms in the wake of the disaster.”

Opening Narrative of ‘The Big Fix’
Narrative was written by Johnny O’Hara:

“The story of BP begins in Iran.  A group of British geologists discovered Iran was sitting on an ocean of oil and they decided they would take it.  They formed the Anglo-Persian oil company and made a corrupt deal with the Iranian monarchy that guaranteed itself all of Iran’s oil.

Shortly after that, the British government bought 51% of the company and at the suggestion of Winston Churchill, the British navy switched from coal to oil.  The warships that projected British power all over the world were now run 100% on oil from Iran.
And then in 1952, Iranians decided to take their oil back.  The democratically elected government of Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh nationalized the Anglo-Iranian oil company.  He banished all the British diplomats, and along with them, the secret agents who were plotting his overthrow.

So, Prime Minister Churchill asked President Eisenhower to overthrow Mossadegh on their behalf.  The CIA and the British helped stage the coup that ended the last democratic government Iran ever knew.  After Mossadegh was overthrown, he was sentenced to three years in prison and house arrest for life.

After the CIA deposed Mossadegh, they placed Mohammad-Reza Shah in power.  The Shah ruled for 25 years with increasing oppression, until finally his rule provoked the 1970 Islamic revolution. With fundamentalist clerics now in power, the company that would eventually be known as BP was forced to look elsewhere for its oil.”  [End narrative excerpt]

An article posted by the University of Texas called “Iran Coup D’état 1953” gives an account that coincides with the brief narrative in ‘The Big Fix’ documentary.

“In 1953 Iran executed a coup d’état overthrowing Prime Minister Mosaddegh with aid from the United States and Great Britain.  Aid included sabotage, propaganda, unofficial military action, and political action. This covert operation performed by the United States CIA (Central Intelligence Agency).  It was fairly quick with little bloodshed, but it would plant seeds of Anti-American sentiment that still resonate today.

It is hard to tell what the actual motivations and plans for the U.S. were behind coup, since many of the documents concerning the events below were either destroyed or never released to the public.  However, from the evidence available, this is what happened.”   University of Texas Article

Unexplained New Oil Slicks

CBS This Morning reported back in December 2012 that oil slicks were seen in the water off of the Louisiana coast.  BP investigated for possible leakage and confirmed that oil was seeping from the place they had believed to be successfully capped. A non-profit environmental group first reported the leakage.  Congressman Ed Markey is concerned that the well never really stopped leaking.

In November 2012, BP admitted to lying to Congress about how much oil was actually pouring into the water back in 2010.  As of October, 2012, BP insists no further risks are involved, negating the need for cleanup; a statement which was backed up by the Coast Guard.

Rep. Markey states, “Well, in 2010, I said that BP was either lying or incompetent.  As it turns out, they were doing both – and this is the same crime scene.”   According to CBS reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, the Coast Guard and BP (British Petroleum) refused to be interviewed.  CBS News Report

The CBS News reported that a ‘white, milky substance’ is oozing out of the capped well and has been tested.  The Coast Guard and BP have refused to state what the substance is (call it ‘unknown’ substance), only that it is not considered dangerous.
Large oil slicks (sheen) were observed in the Gulf coast waters near the location of Deepwater Horizon calamity.  BP accomplished a subsea mission that was supervised by the Coast Guard to investigate the possibility of new oil leaking from the capped well.

Both the Coast Guard and BP (British Petroleum) assured the public that there is no oil seeping out.  In October 2012, however, BP noted that their underwater vehicle had observed oil leakage coming from the containment dome on the well.  It completed a remote operation to plug the new leak and reported that all was well.  The Coast Guard insists that no cleaning up of the oil slick will be carried out, as it did not “pose a risk to the shoreline”.

“But more oil continues to surface. Slicks and sheens of varying sizes and shapes have been documented by satellite photos, as well as aerial video recorded by the non-profit environmental group "On Wings of Care." It's suspected that an unknown amount of oil trapped in the containment dome, and in the wreckage and equipment from 2010, could be seeping out.

Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., helped lead the original investigation of BP after the Deepwater Horizon exploded, and says it's deja vu: BP is not turning over videos and information requested by Congress.
"My concern is that substantial amounts of oil could still be leaking from the wreckage," Markey told CBS News.”

Rep. Ed Markey (Massachusetts), a congressman who is on the House Committee on Natural Resources (committee that also investigated the 2010 oil spill), has a stand against the corporation is no secret to the news media.

He has recently asked the Coast Guard to “release video footage from undersea activities”, but the Coast Guard’s compliance has not yet been fulfilled.  The source of the new oil slicks upon the Gulf of Mexico’s water was an environment group, called ‘On Wings of Care’.

BP Trials

On February 25, 2013, the first phase of the trial against British Petroleum (BP) began.  When the documentary ‘The Big Fix’ was filmed in 2010/11, the narrative states that only one plaintiff’s claim out of over 91,000, had been paid.  However, by the time of the trial that started this year of 2013, BP records revealed that up to $37 billion had been paid in fines, settlements, payouts and cleanup.

The plaintiffs are Louisiana, Alabama, the U.S. Justice Department and thousands of business owners and private citizens.  The defendants are B.P. Exploration and Production, Inc., Anadarko Petroleum, MOEX Offshore (who had a share in the well) and Transocean (who owned the Deepwater Horizon rig that was drilling the well).  Mississippi and Florida are also said to have filed claims.

The Guardian (UK) wrote:

“Whether BP settles or not, the case is virtually guaranteed to prove the most expensive environmental disaster I history, far surpassing EXXON Valdez oil spill off the coast of Alaska, and any payoff would dwarf previous deals the U.S. government has reached with corporate offenders in any industry (a record that stands at $2.3 billion for Pfizer over painkillers)."

On March 15, 2013, Andrew Callus, reporter for Reuters on NBC news stated that BP was appealing a March 5 court ruling against what the corporation called ‘fictitious’ and ‘absurd’ oil spill compensation payouts on Friday (March 15, 2013) and asked a judge to temporarily halt those made on a so-called business economic loss basis.”

The trial continues.  BP attorneys have tried to shift blame and implicate Halliburton and Transocean (BP’s contractors) for the human errors that occurred, causing the explosions and oil spill, stating that BP was simply following the industry’s standard drilling practices. Besides being charged with manslaughter, BP faces several other charges, including gross negligence, which BP attorneys are trying to get downgraded to negligence.  Changing the charge from ‘gross negligence’ to ‘negligence’ could save BP a difference of $20 billion in fines.

Since the Gulf of Mexico incident, British Petroleum (BP) has sold off nearly one-third of its wells and refineries.  It has dropped from the second largest oil corporation to the fourth largest.  BP continues to count the cost of profit.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  [1Jn 2:16]

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [1Tim 6:10]
