Wrong is Wrong
I am responsible and accountable. When enough people are reading an article it shows up at the bottom of this front page, in a list of four different titles. Obviously, the most recent article takes front page, but I speak of a short list that Blogger adds at the page bottom, as the most popular or most recently read.
It is the only way an error would have come to my attention unless someone, as an act of kindness, took time out of their schedule in order to bring the mistake to my attention. That has happened before too, and I am most appreciative. You know the saying, "The mechanic needs a mechanic", or "the editor needs an editor". No? Well, now you have.
A slice of wisdom was placed within my soul by the Holy Spirit seven or eight years ago, not sure exactly. I was still in BC because I remember sharing it at one of our Friday night dinner and worship meetings. To the King all glory due His holy name [Jesus/Yeshua].
[All] Credit [glory, honour, respect] to the LORD:
"I would rather walk in the humility of correction that in the error of pride."
Straight to the Point
Let's get straight to the point.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. [Jam 5:16]
An article that I posted twelve [12] years ago resurfaced at the bottom of this page under the four articles grouped there. Obviously, people have been reading it, so Blogger automatically places it there.
I cannot remember what I wrote where. I know my own work [we all do], but which article has what part of me in it, I could only recall every detail if I were a computer. So, with the intention of refreshing my memory, I reread the article.
Much to my chagrin, it is an unintentional article of error and seemingly endorses the prosperity gospel, female apostles, and modern-day prophets. Please do not jump on the "prophets" part. I absolutely believe people "prophesy" today.
The prophet Joel and the apostle Peter [both godly men filled with the precious and Holy Spirit] spoke about prophesying [a privilege for anyone the Holy Spirit moves upon]. Joel said the Sovereign God, in His providence, would pour out His Spirit in the last days (I believe that happened at Pentecost).
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel [2:28-29]
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and our daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [Acts 2:17]
And on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy: [Acts 2:18]
As for Peter, he echoed the prophet Joel's words, stating that Yahweh said He would pour out of His Spirit [I believe that has been happening since Pentecost and continues until it stops by God's command].
Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies; they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [1Cor13:9]
Do I believe in prophecies and prophesying? Absolutely!
The testimony of Jesus [Yeshua] is the Spirit of prophecy. [Rev 19:10]
 |
ancient prophets of old |
Despise not prophesying. [1Thes 5:20]
Do I believe in modern-day prophets? No, as stated, I believe in prophecies and prophesying, but we do not need prophets anymore. The ancient prophets were moved and spoke [prophesied] by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Because of what Jesus Christ accomplished with His virgin birth, death (crucifixion), burial and resurrection, through grace and by faith, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
I do not believe in modern-day apostles, especially "female" apostles. There were 12, and it is permanent - no more.
And the wall of the city had twelve [12] foundations, and in them the names of the twelve [12] apostles of the Lamb. [Rev 21:14]
The Bible does not even hint that there will be a list of names "to be continued" [a continuous list of more apostles' names added to the 12 carved into the foundation of the New Jerusalem].
It is not going to happen. All the names of those who call themselves "apostles" today will not be added to that foundation. If so, show me where in scripture it says that please, and I will stand corrected. Won't be the first time lol
But adding or taking away from scripture is COMMANDED against. [Deut 4:2; Rev22:18, 19] Whoever does so is in danger of plagues. Tremble at the power and the Word of God.
It was posted July 2013 - twelve [12] long years ago. I had a friend back then that was into the "prosperity gospel", the 'name it and claim if" FALSE doctrine. I also had her on one of my radio programs back then. I had met her online, but we actually met in person too.
She was the kind woman who drove me across the border so I could return to Canada. I had lent my vehicle to my first American landlord, who was a woman that I rented a furnished room from in January 2008. I had a deadline ghostwriting when she asked me for a ride. Normally, I drove her to where she wanted to go. I hesitated but time was too short, so I handed her my keys (she had a license). She was only going a few blocks and back.
Long story, short time -- she [accidentally] wrote my van off. I will always be grateful to Tish [Latshia] for driving me over the border with her young son, but we lost touch years ago. That is how life goes, ebbs and flows, people come and people go. Some old saying about ships - some just pass each other in the night; some dock together for a short while; some just trade goods, and some travel together consistently, either part of a fleet or dually. Others travel alone.
I have written quite an article up on what I consider my error in "To the Weary", but it is not finished. As stated, it is not all error. There is truth in it; but...
But I had to get this notice up. It will do until the other article is up.
The prosperity gospel is a FALSE gospel, a doctrine of devils, a doctrine of error - it leads people to a false Christ and away from the true Jesus -- and modern-day prophets and apostles, especially female apostles, are not scriptural.
I have repented with godly sorrow - I truly hope no one was misguided, but the Lord has a way of leading people to the truth. Then it is up to each individual what they want to do with the truth. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is faithful.
The grace of God is sufficient; yes, He is indeed faithful and just.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [1Jn 1:9]
