To Be Christ-like

This I ask of you, o Great Spirit Chief, my Creator and Savior...

this I humbly ask of You;

this is my truest prayer, o glorious Abba and King:

Teach me:

HUMILITY as the tender new bud in the spring

WISDOM as the sea that knows its boundaries even when enraged

GRACE as the eagle that glides upon the wings of the wind

TRUTH united with love as the sun is united with light

STRENGTH to overcome as the mighty waterfall that defies all obstacles
BOLD as a mouse near the foot of an elephant

ENDURANCE as the majestic mountains that are unmoved by adversity

FAITH to move those very mountains despite their majesty and strength

As a friend whose LOVE causes them to lay down their life for another

As one who has JOY within, as the flower that delights in the sun’s light

As one who has PEACE that passes all understanding

As a tree that bears forth only good FRUIT

Mold me to be such as this, a vessel unto honor for Your glory

Cause me to be:

REFRESHING as the dew of the morning or the showers upon the dry grass

PURE as the oil of olives beaten for the light, to cause lamps to burn continually

LOVELY as the instruments of praise that worship before Your throne

VIRTUOUS as Your order of holy angels

KIND as the soldier who carries his wounded enemy off the battlefield to safety and help

GENTLE as the dove whose flight is towards the rainbow
HONEST as new snow falling softly upon an uplifted face
INNOCENT as the child who draws their first breath

MEEK in enduring injury with patience and without resentment

LONGSUFFERING as You have been with me

This I ask of You, my most holy and Almighty Creator, for in this shall I be made in Your image; in this shall I then be Christ-like.  Then Abba, strengthen and help me to lay it all down, to give it all back to You, for You are everything to me, Sovereign God.
